About the project
The Ghosts of History is an exhibit of compositions that combine historical photographs with contemporary ones taken in the same places. The project was created with the blessing of the creator of the original GHOSTS OF HISTORY exhibit, Dutch historian Jo Hedwig Teeuwisse.
It's a very simple and beautiful thing. While working, we gradually realized that it's more than just putting two pictures side by side. The photographs really got us thinking: about our society, about people and their behaviour in various historical eras, about how we arrange our cities, homes and public spaces. The resulting composition is a strong reminder that our city was a witness to much harder times than those in which we now live. We will share our journeys and discoveries with you in the Blog section. We just ask for your patience, as we are scrambling to get the exhibit ready! At this time we are preparing an exhibit for Plzen's Liberation Festival to which you are warmly invited.
The vernissage is on 30 April 2015 at 3:30 p.m. in Plzen in the gardens in front of the State Research Library.
